Italian Wines in Tour in the USA

Italy was the biggest wine exporter to the USA for volume and value in 2006. A coast-to-coast wine tour presenting Italy’s top wines is scheduled to start in New York today. This is the fifth year edition of an event that has become a must for wine experts.

The first tasting in New York will showcase over 50 top Tuscan wines, the so called Super Tuscans. This will be followed by a gala event on February 15 that will present over 400 premium wines and other culinary delicacies from 60 Italian producers.

The tour will cross the USA to reach Los Angeles on February 21. Another gala will take place at the Valentino Restaurant in Santa Monica, where chef Piero Selvaggio will prepare a gourmet dinner.

All the events are reserved exclusively to journalists, professional buyers and restaurant operators.
